Systems Administrator-Azure Cloud Engineer
Work Environment: Tallahassee, Florida (100% Onsite from
day one)
Scope of work/job characteristics:
•
Develop and maintain processes that optimize
Microsoft Azure resources
•
Analyze Azure resource performance to identify
resource contention, and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure
optimization
•
Perform Microsoft Entra identification
management activities
•
Develop and maintain technical specifications,
standards, procedures, and systems documentation
•
Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to
perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes
•
Assist Azure application owners/administrators
and users with appropriate application access
•
Train infrastructure team members on Azure and
Azure best practices as required
•
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and
Linux server issues with minimal impact on users
•
Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor
server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities
•
Administer and configure Azure infrastructure
security as needed for OIT staff and users
•
Research and recommend appropriate technical
solutions to meet functional requirements
•
Provide recommendations for possible process
improvements within the Department’s infrastructure team
•
Create schedules for the development and
implementation of specific software systems and
•
Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks
as required by the Department.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college
or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is
required. Alternatively, four (4) years of equivalent work experience can be
substituted for the educational requirement. Relevant experience may be
substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
•
Five (5) or more years of Windows server
experience
•
Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or
Cloud experience
•
Expertise with branching strategy, CI/CD
pipeline implementation with Azure pipelines, and version control across
environments with Azure repositories
•
Three (3) or more years of Linux server
experience
•
Server administration experience with three (3)
or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer
•
Five (5) or more years of experience with Active
Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise
environment with 1,000 or more users
•
Experience writing, testing, and executing
PowerShell scripts
•
Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud
environment and
•
Experience installing, maintaining, and
supporting third party applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project
Management
•
IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service
Management Foundations Certified
•
Experience managing projects with a large,
distributed user base
•
Experience developing and managing schedules for
multiple projects
•
Experience managing waterfall projects
•
Experience with state government projects
•
Experience managing and reporting projects in
compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.
•
Experience working with technical programming
teams
•
Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do
attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems
•
Strong communication skills to effectively
communicate with diverse stakeholders
•
Skills in facilitation and team building
•
Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice
environment
•
Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming
